Meet Michele Adams APRN, FNP-BC, MSCP

The Education Behind the Passion

Michele didn’t arrive here by accident. She built this path credential by credential, year by year, driven by a belief that women deserve thoughtful, comprehensive and highly individualized care.

Her journey began more than 30 years ago with a degree in dietetics. Long before “food as medicine” became part of the wellness conversation, nutrition was the foundation of how Michele understood health.

But she wanted to do more.

She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Daemen University, followed by her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from D’Youville University in Buffalo. Along the way, she pursued additional graduate education in nutrition and functional medicine through the University of Western States, and The Institute of Functional Medicine.

But the degrees are only part of the story.

Michele has continued to pursue advanced education and specialized training in menopause care, women’s health, nutrition, metabolic health and lifestyle medicine — bringing those disciplines together to provide a more comprehensive approach to women’s health through midlife and beyond.

Michele holds advanced certifications that most providers simply don’t have:

  • Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) — one of the most rigorous credentials in women’s hormonal health
  • Institute for Functional Medicine — trained to find and treat root causes, not just symptoms
  • Institute for Integrative Nutrition — certified health coach with a whole-person lens
  • Heather Hirsch Academy Women’s Hormone Therapy Specialist — advanced clinical training in hormone therapy for women, along with several other menopause cause focused trainings
  • NYS Certified Diabetes Lifestyle Coach

All of it — every degree, every certification, every hour of continuing education — exists for one reason: to provide thoughtful, unique, comprehensive care that looks at the whole person.

Michele believes healthcare should do more than react when something goes wrong. Her approach is focused on helping women understand their bodies, address concerns early, optimize their health, and feel truly heard throughout the process.

Outside Interests

When she’s not caring for women at Functional Wellness, Michele loves spending time with her family, friends and dogs. She enjoys walking, strength training, yoga, interior design and — perhaps most of all — animals.

A lifelong learner and naturally curious person, Michele is always exploring, creating and looking for ways to grow both personally and professionally.

And the dream? A little more land, a lot of animals, mountains nearby and water within view.
